Autotour United States | 13 days

When he arrived on the archipelago in 1866, the American writer Mark Twain described Hawaii as “the most beautiful fleet of islands ever anchored on the surface of the oceans”. Jack London and Robert Louis Stevenson also nourished the imagination brought to this heavenly elsewhere through their travels and their writings; Jack London writes in particular about surfers: “It is the god Mercury, a Mercury with brown skin; its winged heels carry it with the speed of the waves…”. Even today, this confetti of America smoking in the Pacific fascinates. And rightly so. This paradise on earth deserves flight…

Explore a land of contrasts, made up of long idyllic beaches with its waves and its mythical surfers, its rivers of lava, its jungles embellished with waterfalls and cascades… During hikes, take to the heights and enjoy sublime views in the heart of a wild nature like no other. Live suspended moments while bathing in warm turquoise waters… And discover an ancestral and mysterious culture. For history lovers, visit the war relics of Pearl Harbor, traces of the Japanese attack of December 7, 1941. Like a symbol, they neighbor the USS Missouri where the Japanese surrender was signed.

This complete autotour is the promise of blowing a wind of freedom on your holidays, while combining flexibility and autonomy, expertise and serenity, thanks to the good tips of the experts of the Maisons du Voyage… Aloha!

Arrival in Honolulu. Reception and free transfer to your hotel located on the mythical beach of Waikiki.

DAYS 2 & 3 : Island of Oahu

A day in Waikiki allows you to visit the Bishop Museum to discover the civilizations of the Pacific, the “Iolani Palace”, official residence of the last kings of the archipelago, Chinatown, the Hawaii Maritime Center and the many works of street art in Kakaako. On the second day, discover the north coast, still wild, seat of surfers, and the naval base of Pearl Harbor, attacked by Japan in 1941. Hiking enthusiasts, reach the top of Diamond Head and enjoy a sublime view of Honolulu and Waikiki. Then a well-deserved swim in the turquoise waters of Hanauma Bay.

DAY 4 : Island of Oahu / Island of Kauia

Flight to Lihue on Kauai. With your rental vehicle, explore the island. As for the Na Pali coast, being accessible only on foot or by helicopter because of its gigantic cliffs, make the choice to gain height… Do not miss the Wailua falls and go up the river of the same name. Reach the beaches of Hanalei Bay past the Kilauea Lighthouse.

The history of the island is perceptible through the numerous archaeological sites and petroglyphs present. Must-sees in Hawaii: Volcanoes Park; Pu’uhonua O Honaunau Sanctuary, a listed historical park; the striking spectacle of the island’s youngest volcano spilling its lava into the ocean; the Pololu Valley; the 100% Kona Coffee plantation to discover its production process; Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano from which one observes, privileged, the sunset.
